About Hope for the Nest

Welcome to Hope for the Nest!

My journey to becoming a birth educator started long before I was pregnant with my first child. As someone who always wanted to be a mom, I started researching birth after my husband and I got married. Right away, I was hooked. Everything I learned about birth made me realize how different it was from what I saw on TV or in the movies. I knew I wanted that kind of experience for myself.

My first birth, an unmedicated hospital birth, taught me that birth can be peaceful and that even without an epidural, it’s possible to birth with faith and not fear. My second birth, a precipitous birth (in the car!) on the way to the birth center taught me how unpredictable birth can be. During this birth, I learned that one way or another, my body does know what to do.

Taking birth classes during my first pregnancy inspired me to become a birth educator, but I felt there were two things missing from the classes–encouragement and faith. As a Catholic convert, my faith is the center of my life and I wanted to teach other Christian women how to focus themselves through prayer and scripture during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. As a natural coach and encourager, I also wanted to teach women just how much they’re capable of. Birth may be difficult, but women are strong.

My Hope for You

It is my hope that after reading through my blogs, watching my videos, or taking my course, you will have the faith, confidence, and encouragement necessary to birth without fear, no matter where or how you choose to give birth.

While I do include values from my Catholic faith in all of my content, all women are welcome here. I can’t wait to get to know you and help you have the birth you envision for yourself.
